2. Mitten Drive

Lemont Girl Scout Troop 70259 is holding a mitten drive to benefit Lemont families in need and the "My Joyful Heart" organization in Mokena. The troop is collecting new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves. Donations can be dropped off at any of the following locations:

The FINAL day to donate is WEDNESDAY. All questions can be directed to Troop Leader Robyn Horn at 630-243-0452 or robynhorn@hotmail.com.

3. Patch Athlete of the Week

Lemont junior Courtney Toth, a member of the girls basketball team, is this week's nominee for Patch Athlete of the Week. Pocic is up against athletes from Naperville, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Hinsdale and Downers Grove. The winner will be featured Wednesday on the six participating Patch sites.

4. "Parent Connections" at The Learning Experience

The Learning Experience, 15434 West 127th St., will host a workshop at 6:15 p.m. Thursday that will address various topics in early childhood education and child development. Children are welcome, and refreshments will be served. For more information, visit www.­thelea­rningexperience.­com.
