Three huzzahs for the Lemont Quarrymen!
In their home opener, the former Lockport Sleepers donned new uniforms emblazoned with the letter "Q," officially becoming Lemont's first vintage baseball team.
Playing two games against the Bloomingdale Bucks, the Quarrymen stepped up to bat and brought the atmosphere at Covington Knolls Park back to 1858 with costumes, oldtime jargon and style of play. Hosted by the Lemont Historical Society, the doubleheader featured much cheering and excitement for the crowd.
