Lemont police are investigating a death of an individual in the Ashbury Woods neighborhood, Chief Kevin Shaughnessy confirmed.

Vehicles from the Lemont Police Department and Lemont Fire Protection District were reported near the entrance of Ashbury Woods—located off 127th Street just east of State Street—around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Shaughnessy confirmed that police were on the scene to investigate the death of an unidentified individual. Foul play is not suspected, he said.

Further details were not immediately available. Shaughnessy said police will continue to investigate the incident.
