Lemont Historical Society Plans Teddy Bear Bash
Bring your ‘very loved bear’ along to the historical society museum celebration Jan. 22.
When you were just a child, did you have a fuzzy little best friend with button eyes and cute little rounded ears? As much as you may have loved your teddy bear when you were young, your parents, grandparents – and maybe even your great-great-grandparents – probably did, too.
As an homage to the iconic little bear, which turns 110 years old this year, the Lemont Historical Society is planning a "teddy bear birthday bash" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the organization’s museum at 306 Lemont St. in the village’s historical downtown area.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own “very loved bears” and join in on a teddy bear picnic – as well as learn the history of the country’s best-loved stuffed animal. And, if your beloved teddy bear has seen better days, you can bring him (or her) in for repair, too.
The historical society will hold a short business meeting before the teddy bear bash begins.
