Lemont Girl Scouts Collecting Pajamas for Kids in Need

Donate new PJs through Dec.19 at MB Financial Bank, the local library and the park district’s CORE and Centennial facilities.

Kids love to snuggle up in a cozy pair of PJs when they turn in for the night or when they’re lounging in front of the TV, watching cartoons on a Saturday morning.

But when members of Lemont Girl Scout Troop 70327 realized some kids don’t have even one pair of pajamas, they were determined to do something about it.

To achieve their goal and to earn their bronze award, the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can achieve, troop members are conducting a pajama drive.

“The girls picked a project that they care about and that will make a difference in the world,” said troop leader Paulette Vogel. “They picked a pajama drive [because] there are thousands of kids in this world who do not own a pair of pajamas.”

To make a donation, drop off new children's pajamas in sizes newborn through 16-18 (through Wednesday, Dec. 19) at the following sites in Lemont: MB Financial Bank, 1151 State St.; Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St.; Lemont Park District at The CORE, 16050 W. 127th St. and Centennial Community Center, 16028 W. 127th St.

To make a monetary donation, contact Paulette Vogel at pvogel1@sbcglobal.net.
