The Warrior Booster Club has extended the deadline to Friday, Aug. 31, for Old Quarry students to register for extra-curricular activities.
Community leaders and parents formed the not-for-profit Warrior Booster Club to support extra-curricular activities for students at Old Quarry Middle School after the financial situation of Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A forced the board of education to cut activities in 2010.
According to the group’s website, last year, more than 800 students participated in extra-curricular activities supported by the Warrior Booster Club. The activities are made possible by sponsorships, tax-deductible donations – and through various fund-raising events throughout the year.
This school year, the Warrior Booster Club is planning to sponsor the following activities for Old Quarry Middle school students:
- Cross country
- Dance team
- Drama club
- Literature club
- National Junior Honor Society (Old Quarry chapter)
- Newspaper club
- Scholastic bowl
- Science club
- Sign-language club
- Student council
