Ready to watch the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony?

NBC (Channel 5) will air the opening ceremony at 6:30 to 11 p.m. CST. The ceremony will not be aired live to be seen during primetime hours. 

The decision to not air the Olympic opening ceremony live has drawn some controversy, the Huffington Post reports. 

About a billion people are expected to watch the ceremony for a $42 million extravaganza, according to NBC.
