Honor Veterans, Active Duty Military This Week
Mindflow Café, Hope and Friendship Foundation collecting cards, letters, poems and pictures to send to veterans and troops overseas.
Mindflow Café and the Hope and Friendship Foundation are encouraging local children and adults to show their appreciation for veterans and active-duty military personnel by writing letters or poems, drawing pictures or signing cards to be delivered to Hines VA Hospital and troops overseas.
Correspondence may be dropped off at Mindflow Café at 206 Main St. in downtown Lemont through Friday during business hours, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
In conjunction with the Values for Veterans promotion organized by the Hope and Friendship Foundation, Mindflow Café is offering a free lunch for veterans and active military members who stop by in their uniform or colors this week – and those who present military IDs will receive 20 percent off their bills.
On Friday, Nov. 9, Mindflow Café will sponsor a “Heroes for Hire” job fair from 2-4:30 p.m. Open to the public, participants are encouraged to bring their resumes and learn about opportunities available in co-staffing and trade jobs.
At 5 p.m. on Friday, Mindflow is planning an honorary reception to honor servicemen and women. Complimentary dessert and beverages will be provided.
