Lemont Halloween Happenings: Costume Parade and Contests, Fright Night and More
There’s certainly no shortage of spooky – and sometimes silly – events for one and all in Lemont during the Halloween season.
There are plenty of Halloween-related activities for all ages in Lemont over the next week or so. Here are just a few of them:
Saturday, Oct. 27
Don’t miss Lemont’s Halloween Hoedown in the village’s historic downtown – from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will include a costume parade and contest, haywagon rides, a haunted caboose, trick or treating at Safety Village and participating downtown stores, kids’ activities, frightening photos (bring your own camera; a backdrop will be provided), a pumpkin jumpie, food and treats – and more!
Kids can don their favorite spooky or funny costumes and line up for the costume parade at 12:30 p.m. at Legion Park (across from the Metra Station). The parade begins at 1 p.m. and will wind through Lemont’s historic downtown, including Stephen, Main, Canal, Talcott and Front streets. For more information call 630-243-2700.
Fall Arts & Crafts Fair/Halloween Trick or Treat Trail
Franciscan Village, at 1270 Franciscan Drive, will host its annual Fall Arts & Crafts Fair and Trick or Treat Trail from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children ages 12 and under are invited to dress up in costume and follow the “Trick or Treat Trail” through the community and end in the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the facility, where the craft fair will take place. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be available for purchase.
Haunted Happenings Adult Scavenger Hunt and Costume Party
The Lemont downtown merchants are planning “Haunted Happenings” from 7 to 11 p.m. – featuring a costume contest, scavenger hunt, music and split-the-pot raffle. Start at Belle De Jour, 108 Stephen Street, and pick up a map. For more information call 630-514-6642
Tuesday, Oct. 30
