Hope and Friendship Foundation Runs Annual Cleaning Supply Drive

The organization encourages community to donate cleaning products March 2 through April 7.

When this time of year rolls around, many of us busy ourselves with spring cleaning – sprucing up our homes for the coming season.

But what if you are a family struggling paycheck to paycheck, just to get by? Cleaning products are costly items that cannot be purchased with food pantry vouchers or state assistance such as SNAP/LINK, says Terri O’Neill Borders of the Hope and Friendship Foundation.

“Your donation of just one cleaning product will provide a much-needed bag of spring cleaning needs that will brighten up a home in need,” O’Neill Borders said.

Here’s what’s needed:

  • Detergent
  • Spray cleaners
  • Rags
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Dish detergent
  • Soap and more

Donations can be dropped off in the bin in the lobbies of the Lemont Police Department at 14600 W. 127th St., Lemont Township at 1115 Warner Ave. or Calvary Church at 1375 State St.
