Early Morning Fire Breaks Out in Downtown Dumpster

Lemont firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. near the Front Street Lofts.

 

Firefighters responded early Friday to a small dumpster fire in downtown Lemont.

The fire broke out shortly after 1 a.m. near the Front Street Lofts and was quickly extinguished, said Carl Churulo, chief of the Lemont Fire Protection District.

Churulo said the fire "was clearly set" but the official cause is still undetermined.
