Donate Toys, Food to Lemont Firemen's Association Saturday

Visit with Santa and drop off wrapped toys and non-perishable food at the Lemont Jewel-Osco between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Lemont Firemen’s Association invites members of the community to donate to the organization’s toy and food drive, which will take place between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at Jewel-Osco at 127th St. and Lemont Road.

Bring the kids along, too, as Santa will be on hand during the drive to meet and greet children of all ages.

Donors should wrap toys, attaching a tag designating the gift for a boy or girl, and specifying the ages for which the toy is appropriate.

Donated toys will benefit the local Jeff Anderson Children’s Foundation. In 1999, Earl Anderson (a.k.a. Santa) and his family began the foundation following the tragic loss of their beloved son. In memory of Jeff, the foundation raises money, collects donations and distributes toys to severely ill children and needy families in the area.

Non-perishable food may also be dropped off at the drive, to be donated to the Bethany Food Pantry of Lemont.
