District 113A Check Register Now Available Online
The move comes just one month after the school board was contacted about sharing their accounts payable with the public.
In an effort to increase transparency of district finances, officials in Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A have made their monthly check register available to the public online.
District 113A officials have been posting their accounts payable each month, but are now sharing "paid accounts payable," which includes the check number for each paid item.
The document containing March payments is posted under the Treasurer's Report in the March 21 meeting agenda on BoardDocs — the website the district uses to publish board meeting materials.
District 113A Superintendent Tim Ricker said Tuesday that the decision was made after the issue was brought up in recent community forums and board meetings. On Feb. 14, the issue was brought to the board by members of Americans for Prosperity, a conservative advocacy group with chapters in 32 states.
Ricker said the district will likely continue posting the information on BoardDocs each month.
