2. Haircuts for Children in Need
Hair Cuttery will launch its 12th annual Share A Haircut event this month, donating one free haircut to a child in need in the community for every haircut purchased for a child 18 or younger Aug. 1-15. A total of 106 Hair Cuttery salons in Chicagoland will participate in the program.
The Lemont Hair Cuttery is located at 1218 State St.
3. Diary of a Whimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules
The Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., is hosting a screening of Diary of a Whimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. No registration is required, and admission is free with a donation for the local food pantries.
4. Wine and Food Tasting for Everest Academy
Everest Academy is hosting a wine and food tasting event to raise money for technology advancement in the classroom. The event will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Brookhaven Marketplace, 100 Burr Ridge Parkway in Burr Ridge.

5. Fundraiser for Suburban Sheltie Rescue
A fundraiser for the Homer Glen animal shelter Suburban Sheltie Rescue will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 3 Corners Grill and Tap, 12371 Derby Road.
