Accident Report: Power Shut Down After Car Strikes Utility Pole
There were no injuries in the Sunday morning accident, which disrupted traffic and caused many Lemont residents to briefly lose power.
Several Lemont residents reported brief power outages Sunday morning after a vehicle struck a utility pole near McCarthy and Walker roads.
Lemont Police Chief Kevin Shaughnessy said there were no injuries in the single-car accident, which occurred around 10 a.m.
The crash disrupted power and traffic in the McCarthy-Walker area for more than an hour as ComEd and Lemont emergency crews cleaned up the scene.
Shaugnessy attributed to the crash to "poor driving."
