One person was killed and two more were in critical condition following a car accident Wednesday afternoon in unincorporated Lemont. 

ABC News reports that the crash took place south of Bluff Road on southbound Route 83. According to ABC, two people were driving in a sedan, and one was killed.

Route 83 in unincorporated Lemont remained closed as of 7 p.m. following the two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

ABC reported one fatality and two critically injured in the crash, but a spokesman in the DuPage County watch commander’s office declined to confirm any further details at press time.

The other person in the car was critically injured and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital along with another critically injured person from the other car, ABC reports.
